Juniper Networks Certified Specialist - Enterprise Routing and Switching JNCIS-ENT is the second course in Juniper Networks enterprise routing and switching learning path. It is an intermediate-level course and required to pass the JN0-348 exam.

The JNCIS-ENT Course has two primary parts:

  13. Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot OSPF.

  14. Understand the BGP and its basic operations.

  15. Understand the BGP attributes.

  16. know the steps in the BGP route selection algorithm.

  17. Understand the BGP peering options and the default route advertisement rules.

  18. Configure and monitor BGP.

  19. Understand the IP tunneling concepts and applications.

  20. Understand the basic operations of generic routing encapsulation (GRE) and IP over IP (IP-IP) tunnels.

  • Enterprise Switching

    Designed to provide you with Juniper intermediate enterprise switching knowledge and configuration examples using Junos Enhanced Layer 2 Software, with the following objectives:

  1. Know the benefits of implementing switched LANs.

  2. Understand the transparent bridging concepts and operations.

  3. Understand the terms and design considerations for switched LANs.

  4. List Juniper platforms that support Layer 2 switching.

  5. Configure interfaces for Layer 2 switching operations.

  6. Understand and interpret the Ethernet switching table.

  7. Understand the the concept of a VLAN.

  8. Understand the access and trunk port modes.

  9. Configure and monitor VLANs.

  10. Understand the voice VLAN and native VLAN concepts.

  11. Understand the inter-VLAN routing operations.

  12. Configure and monitor inter-VLAN routing.

  13. Know when a spanning tree is required.

  14. Understand the STP and Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) operations.

  15. Know some advantages of using RSTP over STP.

  17. Understand the bridge protocol data unit (BPDU), loop, and root protection features.
